Team registration for KPMG Touch Summer League open

Guernsey Touch is pleased to announce that the KPMG Touch Summer League 2014 will start on Wednesday 14 May and run every Wednesday evening throughout the summer at the KGV until 30 July. All the details can be found below:

Business/ social league
Following on from our recent announcements, we are pleased to confirm the launch of the first business/ social division within the Summer League. The division is open to mixed teams who are predominantly made up of players who are new to the sport. Teams registering in this division are not required to supply a referee, although if anyone is interested in volunteering please do let us know! Read on below for details on how to register your team.

Learn to play nights
As a reminder, Guernsey Touch are running "learn to play" nights for any teams who are looking for a bit of coaching on the rules and basic skills. They will be held every Wednesday evening from now until 7 May at the KGV from 6.30pm. We would encourage as many teams as possible to take advantage of the coaching on offer here; any questions please let me know.

Team registration
In addition to the new business/ social league, registration is also open for competitive mixed, men's and ladies divisions. Captains are first asked to register their team by completing the relevant details on the following website:

The registration fee is £350 per team and this must be paid no later than 5 June. Payment instructions can be found on the website above.

Individual player registration
Once your team captain has successfully registered the team, every player is then required to complete an individual registration form found on the following website:
Players will not be allowed to play in the league until they have successfully completed their individual registration.

Referee requirement and Level 1 courses
All competitive teams are strongly encouraged to nominate at least two referees who have not been nominated to referee for another team in a different division. Whilst this requirement is strongly encouraged, Guernsey Touch may be willing to consider an exception if the enforcement of this rule would mean that a team would be unable to register - please email in such instances.

Anyone who is not currently qualified to referee should email Chris Wrigley, our Director of Referees, on with a view to taking the short Level 1 course. The course will only take a few hours, and current plans are to run them on 27 April, 4 May and 5 May. If you are interested, please let Chris know as soon as possible.
The league would not run without those players who volunteer to referee, and so please do consider going on the course if you would like to help with the success of the league and if you are keen to learn more about the sport.
