Hundreds of touchdowns in FNB Summer League
THE first four weeks of the FNB Summer Touch League have seen a total of 467 touchdowns from the 34 teams taking part.
In Mixed A, Concept 360 are hoping to win back the title from Source Sorcerers and are currently the only team to have won all five of their games giving them 15 points. Source are in second with 12 but they have a game in hand on the league leaders.
Galaxy Mixed are third with 10 points having won three and lost one, Lancaster Dam Busters are in fourth with nine points having won two but they have played one more game than the three teams below them. Martel Dunn Mixed A are fifth with six points having won just one of their four games and are ahead of PWC Mixed A on touchdown difference. Specsavers Sharks are in seventh place having yet to win a game.
In Mixed B, Electric Shocks are continuing their winning ways having won a trophy last year. They head the eight team table having won all four of their games. Panthers Touch and Crazy Horses both have 10 points but Panthers, who have won three and lost one, take second spot on touchdown difference. Can’t Touch Liz have won two and lost two and find themselves in fourth place with eight points.
Martel Dunn Mixed B are fifth with seven points having won one, drawn one and lost two and just behind them with the same results but a bigger touchdown difference is L’Eree Confidential. PWC Mixed B are seventh with six points and Collas Crill Pink Sox sit at the bottom of the league with four points.
Concept 360 Men’s are mirroring the performance of the mixed team by winning all four of their games to head up Men’s A with 12 points. PWC Mens are second with 10 points having won three and lost one and Guernsey Men’s, who are using the league as training ahead of the Mainland Cup next month, are third with seven points. Source Temp Tigers are just behind on touchdown difference with Galaxy Men’s and Martel Dunn Men's are one point behind in fifth and sixth place respectively.
For the first time in Guernsey Touch history, a ladies team has been allowed to enter the Men’s B team. The Guernsey Ladies are using the league to benefit from more competitive games ahead of the inter-insular in August and currently find themselves at the bottom having lost all four of their games.
Office Solution Gaels lead Men’s B with nine points having won all three of their games with The Exiles and The Clams one point behind. The Exiles, who have won two and drawn one, are ahead of The Clams on touchdown difference. Specsavers Stags are in fourth place with seven points having won two and lost one and Electric Shocks and Colts both have six points but Electric Shocks are ahead on touchdown difference.
Source Seductresses head up the ladies division having won all four of their games and in second, but only on touchdown difference, are Galaxy Ladies. Hot Panths are third with eight points and one point behind but with a game in hand are Martel Dunn Ladies who have won one, drawn one and lost two. PWC also have seven but find themselves in fifth on touchdown difference and Specsavers Sirens are in sixth with five points having won one and lost three.
Games are played at Cambridge Park on Wednesdays from 6pm until 9pm and spectators are more than welcome.
